China in my imagination children’s drawing contest strengthens artistic and friendship bonds / @alefrausto @cultura_mx >>>

#SecretaríaDeCultura.- With the purpose of strengthening artistic and friendship ties, the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (Inbal), through the General Subdirectorate of Artistic Education and Research (Sgeia), and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, through the China Cultural Center in Mexico, will inaugurate this January 12 the 9th exhibition of the China in my Imagination Children’s Drawing and Painting Contest.

The exhibition, which will feature 100 works by Mexican children, will be open to the public until February 12 at the main gallery of the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving La Esmeralda del Inbal, located inside the National Center for the Arts, south of Mexico City.

Thanks to its different editions, the children’s drawing and painting contest China in my imagination has positioned itself as a platform where Mexican children can better understand China and show their artistic talents; examples of this have been themes such as the Silk Road, pandas, the Chinese New Year, a trip to China and the Chinese horoscope, among others.

For the 2022 edition, the theme of the contest was China today, with the premise of getting to know and approach the advances in different areas of society, culture and education, as well as the developments in scientific technology and the environment that the Asian country has made in the last 10 years.

Inbal received 430 works from children from more than 52 municipalities in the 22 states of the Mexican Republic, where Inbal is present with its schools of Artistic Initiation, mainly from Mexico City, since here 23 teachers of the Artistic Teaching Section offer an introduction to the plastic arts that allow the development of creativity in public schools.
